Ofsted Outstanding, July 2019

Our latest Ofsted Inspection was carried out in July 2019. This report recognised the outstanding provision provided, which is further described in the Caterpillar Pre-School Ofsted Report. A paper copy of this report is available to read in our foyer. 

Since then, we have strived to further improve our provision to ensure we maintain the high standard of care and development for which we were recognised.

Some of the further improvements and adjustments made, include:

• The offering of termly Parents Evenings for all children and families. 
• The renting of a local allotment plot to enable the children to grow and harvest fruits, vegetables and flowers; supporting their development in Understanding The World.
• Involvement in community based activities such as the Battle Christmas Tree Festival and the Battle Scarecrow Festival so that children feel a sense of belonging to their local community.
• Supporting the children’s awareness of cultural differences and celebration days / festivals around the world, including: Lunar New Year, Diwali and Thanksgiving.
• Neutralising of the classroom environment to ensure a calming atmosphere for all; in particular those who may experience sensory overstimulation.
